Everything for Sample competition second one.

3–4 October 2026

One page for all of it — parking that actually works, the day-by-day schedule, the prep guide, and the routine music.

2 days of competition
💜Have fun, that's the job
Step one

Schedule

Arrive around 90 minutes before your first event each day — that gives time to settle in, get changed, and warm up. Schedules can run ahead, so it's worth checking your specific slot with a coach rather than assuming you can turn up right at your event time.

Saturday — Day 1
Saturday 3 October
8:00am – 7:00pm
Sunday — Day 2
Sunday 4 October
8:00am – 7:00pm
Step two

Parking

Please use one of the approved car parks below — the venue's own bays are usually time-limited and not enough for a full competition day.

Competition prep guide

Whether it's your first comp or your fiftieth, there are three ways to get ready: physically, mentally, and emotionally.

💪 Physical

  • Pack the kit bag together — costume(s) for each event, tights, boot covers, correct underwear per dress, hairbrush, gel/hairspray, bobbles, clips, makeup.
  • Check skates — right wheels fitted for your first event.
  • Wear trainers over the weekend for warm-ups, stretching, and run-throughs.
  • Get there early enough for your practice slot — coaches will map out your events, on or off skates.
  • Join in, explore the stalls, make new friends, dance during the fun bit at the end.
  • Big, bold arm movements. Head up, smile. If you fall — style it out and carry on.

🧠 Mental

  • Bring headphones — run through your routine music, or use it to calm down.
  • Watch a video of your routine if the nerves kick in.
  • Square breathing: in for 4, out for 4.
  • Smell the flowers, blow out the candle.
  • Pick a motivational word: You got this / I'm awesome / Let's gooo / Time to have fun / SMILE!

💜 Emotional

  • Tears are allowed. Parents too.
  • All emotions are welcome — if one gets too big, step away with a coach, friend, or parent to reset. Hugs are always available.
  • During presentations: be proud regardless of placement, and cheer on teammates and skaters from other clubs.
  • It's not about winning, it's about skating your best. Coaches are proud no matter what.
  • Finally — have fun!
